The National Bank of Poland decided to release a collective coin and banknotes in memory of the border protection from migrants. This is reported by Business Insider Polska.
According to President of Adam Gipignan, banknote and coin “Protection of the Polish Eastern Border” will be released in accelerated and extraordinary mode. Nominal monetary signs are not yet reported.
Earlier, Polish border guards told that the sounds of shooting and rechargeable weapons were heard from the Belarusian side. Poland’s border secretary, Anna Mikhalskaya, noted that this is a permanent phenomenon.
The migration crisis on the border of the Belarusian and the European Union began at the end of May. Large groups of illegal migrants from Africa and the Middle East began to storm the borders of Lithuania, Poland and Latvia in the hope of getting refuge in the European Union. It is assumed that the Belarusian authorities use their national tour operator “Centerkurort” to cross the migrants to the EU borders and earn it.
On November 8, several thousand people approached Poland from the Belarusian side. Migrants do not leave the cross-border area, part tried to get to the territory of Poland, breaking the barbed wire bar.
