Russia began delivery of anti-aircraft missile systems (VRS) S-400 to India. This was stated by Director of the Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation (FSVTs) Dmitry Shuguev on the eve of the exhibition Dubai Airshow, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, the equipment in India is currently shipped according to the schedule. The supply of Russian systems of India will be completed by April 2023. The contract for the supply of complexes was concluded on October 5, 2018 during the visit of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin to New Delhi. The cost of the contract exceeds 5 billion dollars.
Earlier, Shugaev called the most popular Russian weapon among foreigners. According to him, Russian C-400 air defense systems are in the greatest demand of foreign customers, Rocket and Cannis Complexes “Poles-C1”, as well as the entire line of aviation technology, anti-tank systems “Cornet” and RSZO “Tornado”. Shugaev at the same time noted that at least 50 percent of Russian exports falls on aviation equipment. He also added that in the top five largest foreign buyers of Russian military equipment include China, India, the Middle East and North Africa region, as well as Latin American countries.
