Russian tu-160 touchers made a flight over the neutral waters of the Barents, the Norwegian and North Sea, in a separate section with them almost closely close and accompanied by British fighters. This is reported on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
It is noted that Eurofighter Typhoon UK Air Force rose into the air. On frames shot from the Russian bomber cabin, it can be seen that British aircraft follow a parallel course and at some point reduce the distance to several tens of meters.
Fighter support of the Russian Tu-160 ensured the crews of the aircraft MiG-31 unification of the Air Force and Anti-missile defense of the Northern Fleet. Fighters-interceptors flew with suspended rockets P-33 “Air-air”.
“All flights of aircraft of the air-space forces of Russia are carried out in strict accordance with the international rules for using airspace,” stressed in the Ministry of Defense.
The flight duration was about 15 hours, refueling in the air was performed. Crews regularly perform departures over the neutral waters of the Arctic, the Atlantic and Pacific, the Black and Baltic Seas.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense recorded an increase in NATO military activity, in particular the United States, in the Black Sea region. The agency notes that the Russian anti-aircraft rocket troops accompanied four aircraft of the North Atlantic Alliance over the Black Sea. Among them were two U-2S and RC-135 scouts, as well as a pair of P-8A Poseidon patrol aircraft.
