Sailing: Pierre Roy Winner of second and final stage of mini-transat

The French sailor cut off the finish line, Friday in Guadeloupe.

The French skipper Pierre Le Roy, who has been led the fleet of mini-transat for several days, adjudged, Friday, November 12 in Saint-François, Guadeloupe, the second and final stage of the race.

The 87 competitors still in the running in this crossing of the Atlantic who disputes alone on small monohulls of 6.50 m, had left, Friday, October 29, Santa Cruz de la Palma (Canaries) to rally the Guadeloupe .

Pierre Le Roy, on Teamwork, aligned in the category of “prototype” boats. It took 13 days 2 hours 2 minutes and 9 seconds to buckle the 2,700 miles of the course between Santa Cruz de la Palma and Saint-François, with an average speed of 7.65 knots.

The other competitors have not yet arrived but, in recent hours, Pierre Le Roy were in a position to make the lined step-proof.
