United Kingdom Defense Minister Ben Wallace accused three parliament deputies from the Labor Party in disrespect for the British army. About it reports The Time.
According to the sources of publication, politicians got drunk on the plane along the way to the view of the military unit, deployed in Gibraltar, British Oil Territory. The event was dedicated to the day of the memory of the soldiers who died for the UK and the Commonwealth countries. In addition, the accused deputies enter the parliamentary group on relations with the armed forces.
“This behavior indicates disrespect for the long-term work of our armed forces. It puts military personnel in a difficult situation and undermines respect for parliament,” the head of the Ministry of Defense said. The source The Times explained that the deputies were “obviously drunk, when they were registered and the planting process was held, and then drank a lot on the plane.”
also became known names of three participants of the scandal: they were members of the Labor Party Charlotte Nichols, David Linden and Drew Hendry. As eyewitnesses of events clarified, Nichols was so drunk that, after arriving in Gibraltar, was unable to go to a military review. According to reports, it had to be taken from the airport on a wheelchair.
Laborian themselves deny the fact of the drunkenness by them during an official visit. They confirmed that they used alcohol before departure from London, but in small quantities, and Nichols allegedly became bad because of the medicines she takes. However, besides them, there were deputies-conservatives and military, only 14 people. They all claim to have seen how the deputies drank on the plane, as well as rudely behaved in airports.
