Parliament of Latvia supported the draft law on the use of George Ribbons during public events, RIA Novosti reports.
Sejm accepted the document in the third, final reading. The prohibition will spread entertainment and festive events, meetings, processions and pickets, notes TASS.
The head of the Parliamentary Commission on Human Rights and Public Affairs Artus Kayminsh called symbolic the fact that the bill was adopted on November 11, when Latvia celebrates the public holiday the day of the soldiers. According to him, law enforcement agencies have already expressed their readiness to monitor the implementation of restrictions.
