Participant of assault capitol received more than three years in prison for hitting a policeman

Asset Fairlamba Capitol’s assault participant (Scott Fairlamb) received more than three years in prison for hitting the police officer during the riots on January 6th. It is reported by ABC News.

It is noted that the 44-year-old American has become the first person convicted of an attack on the law enforcement officer during the riots in the Capitol. He is found guilty of hitting a fist in a protective facelist of a police officer, as well as in incitement of other participants to the seizure of the Capitol. According to the office of the prosecutor, the officer was not injured, but described on January 6 as the most terrible day in his career.

In total, the court sentenced Fairlba to 41 months in prison. This is the longest of all 32 sentences made in this case at the moment. The assault participant himself recognized the guilt, and also called his actions in irresponsible and reckless during the riots.

After the elections of the President of the United States in November 2020, the supporters of Donald Trump stormed the Capitol with the victory of Joe Bayden. This happened after the rally on January 6th. During the riots, a participant in demonstrations and a police officer died, three more told the causes that are not related to violence. The police could remove the storming participants from the Congress building, after which it was announced by the victory of Byyden.
