Any sanctions of the European Union (EU) against Belarus illegitimate. This was announced at a press briefing, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Russia Maria Zakharova, the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
“Why all this time it was impossible to find one day and several people to carry out consultations with Minsk is trying to punish Minsk and not to settle acute migration crisis?” – outraged diplomat. According to her, this situation has led to the withdrawal of NATO troops from Afghanistan and the preceding 20-year-old war.
Zakharov added that the blame for the crisis is impossible to handle the migration to Belarus. As stated by the representative of the Foreign Ministry, Russia will provide comprehensive support to Belarus. In addition, she noted that migration problems are not a cause for sanctions.
