The World Bank will not resume work in Afghanistan until a political issue is settled in the country. In particular, we are talking about the recognition of the government led by the “Taliban” movement (prohibited in the Russian Federation as a terrorist). It is reported by 1TV News .
While the Taliban does not recognize the whole world, the International Finance Structure will not resume its activities. World Bank President David Malpass believes that this is one of the priority issues with which the heads of different states should decide.
After the change of power in Afghanistan in mid-August, Western countries froze international funds, including financial assets to which the country could access through the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. This is one of the reasons provoking a deep economic crisis. So, currently in Afghanistan there is a massive output of funds, and most banks do not work and do not provide a full range of services.
