Representatives of the corporation said that LPDDR5X is produced according to a 14-nanometer process with 16-gigabit chips, it is characterized by increased data transfer rate and low power consumption. The new format is designed to work with artificial intelligence, 5G, meta-plane and will be applied in smartphones of the future.
LPDDR5X provides data processing speed up to 8.5 gigabits per second. This is more than 1.3 times faster than LPDDR5. Also, RAM consumes 20 percent less energy. The current format is designed to meet the growing demand for Mobile DRAM larger capacity.
“In recent years, market segments with hyper-shouts, such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality and metavlane, which rely on extremely fast large-scale data processing, are promptly expanded,” explained the need to introduce LPDDR5X Vice President Samsung San Jun Khvan.
At the end of August, Samsung announced the RAM with a capacity of 512 gigabytes. The device can provide data processing speed up to 7.2 gigabits per second at a voltage of 1.1 volt.
