Russia hopes that European leaders will not allow themselves to conflict with her. This was stated by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Lavrov in connection with comparisons of the migration crisis in the Belarusian border with the beginning of World War II and the attack on Poland in 1939, RIA Novosti writes.
“I very much hope that the responsible Europeans, especially the so-called Eurogrands, will show their will and will not allow themselves to pull themselves into an endless spiral [confrontation], which is very and very dangerous,” the minister said.
He thus responded to the words of the Polish side that Polish border guards are the “front line of the front”, and the situation resembles 1939, when Soviet troops occupied the Polish territory.
Earlier on November 10, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharov answered accusations from Western countries in the involvement of the Russian Federation to the migration crisis. She disruled from any participation of Russia in this situation, and also compared migrants from the Middle East with Belarusian oppositionists who were running out of the country after the abdominal suppression of the protests of 2020.
