The United Arab Emirates (UAE) delivered the prototype of the Russian one-moving fighter CHECKMATE. The aircraft will demonstrate at the Dubai Airshow International Aviationon. This is reported by TASS with reference to Rostech.
In the state corporation, noted that the prototype of the fighter was taken to the UAE on the transport aircraft An-124 Ruslan. Checkmate will first demonstrate abroad. As part of Dubai Airshow plan to hold a number of presentations for the press and participants of the air show.
Earlier, the general director of Rostech, Sergey Chemezov, said that the cost of the flight hour CHECKMATE would be seven times lower than that of the American F-35 Lightning II fighter. He noted that F-35 is the main competitor to Checkmate.
In October, the general director of Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheev noted that foreign military air forces are interested in the Russian fighter. According to him, the need for airplanes of this class exists in many countries.
The prototype of the light fighter Checkmate was presented at the International Aviation and Space Salon of 2021 (MAKS-2021) in July. Chemezov then stressed that the cost of the aircraft will be from 25 to 30 million dollars. According to him, the plane will be able to carry more than seven tons of weapons.
