Poland President asked NATO for help in situation on border with Belorussia

Poland asked NATO for help in resolving the migration crisis on the border with Belarus. The president of the Republic of Angey Duda appeared with the relevant statement, RIA Novosti reports.

“The Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoleberg asked me to stay on the hotline in the morning today, informing him constantly about the development of the situation, whether escalation begins there, which could serve as a basis for the North Atlantic Union,” said the Polish leader. He hoped that NATO’s forces would support Warsaw not military, but other available methods. Duda also thanked the Alliance for the willingness to help solve problems with migrants.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Horst Zeehofer called on the European Commission (EC) to take the necessary measures to resolve the migration problem. He stated that Germany and Poland were not able to independently cope with the aggravated situation with migrants on the border with Belarus.

According to Poland’s border service, on November 8, 309 attempts to illegal crossing the border of the country by Belarus were recorded. At the same time, the Deputy Polish Minister of Internal Affairs of Machi Wonsik said that on the border there are now 12 thousand soldiers of the Polish troops, 4 thousand border guards and 1.5 thousand policemen.
