Moscow encouraged to increase the number of employees of American consulates in Russia. This was stated by the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov, his words brings “Interfax”.
Diplomat explained that a similar step is necessary in order to normalize visa services in the US Dipmissions in Russia. “There is opportunities for this,” he stressed.
According to Ryabkov, Russia is open to any options for the mutual settlement of consular issues. He expressed the hope that the parties would be able to achieve some mobiles at the next round of negotiations, which will pass in a couple of weeks.
In early October, American senators called on US President Joe Bayiden to put Russian Ultimatum: Moscow should expand the US Embassy, or from Washington will send 300 Russian diplomats. In response, the Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out that there is no such number of Russian diplomats in Washington. The department suggested that Congressmen, “not possessing relevant knowledge in international relations,” considered also those who work as per UN Russian diplomatic staff.
