Specialist in the field of materials from Mighty Tech (engaged in building houses with 3D printers) Egor Yakovlev said, as what and from what in the future will be built at home on the moon. He shared his vision with “Tape.ru” in the framework of the Cyberreality project.
According to Yakovlev, the basis of the settlement of the Moon and Mars can be the technology of 3D printing. With the help of a construction 3D printer, a building will be raised using the lunar soil. According to him, the lunar raw materials along with volcanites (products of the decay of cooled lava) are currently used in 3D construction on Earth.
“A few companies have been collaborated with NASA in the development of a printer, which is able to be located on the moon and create the required designs there,” said specialist.
In the event that a three-dimensional printer appears on the moon, people do not have to transport material for construction from the ground.
In September 2021, a group of British scientists offered to use concrete based on blood and urine cosmonauts. The AstroCrete material is not inferior to the usual concrete for compressive strength, but is cheaper in production. According to researchers, liter of blood plasma is enough to create 300 grams of composite material. In this case, for the month, each cosmonaut could produce about 2.5 kilograms of construction concrete.
The project “Cyberreality” is dedicated to how high technologies change the life of Russians and humanity in general. He talks about how the development, which a few years ago seemed fantastic, today ensure security, help in everyday life, save lives, expand the horizons of people with disabilities and care about the elderly.
