Russia warned against shifting of guilt on Serbs for Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Permanent Representative of Russia at the UN Vasily Nevili warned from attempts to shift the blame for what is happening in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Serbs. According to him, the situation in the region is exacerbated due to irresponsible actions of external players, reports TASS.

“The situation is exacerbated by irresponsible actions of a number of external forces. As a result, all the achievements of many years of age and the multi-national reconciliation process were under a serious threat,” the diplomat emphasized, speaking at a meeting of the Security Council.

Neuvants indicated that Russia as one of the guarantors of Dayton agreements cannot remain indifferent to the situation and called for no blame for the exacerbation of the internal political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina only for the entire post-war period only on Serbs.

Earlier, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova responded to a new law entered into the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina: According to him, the negation of the genocide in Srebrenica becomes criminalized.

The bill was initiated by a high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Valentin Insko, leaving his post. According to Zakharova, such actions – interference in the internal affairs of the country. In addition, the law contradicts the status of insko, which should be an objective intermediary of the peace process, and violates the agreement of the Steering Committee, which monitors the development of events in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
