Researchers from Australia and New Zealand appreciated how much the performance of work depends on the deadlines. According to the results of the study published in the Economic Inquiry journal, people with longer deeds have experienced more cases of procrastination.
In his experiment, scientists from McKori Universities and Otago decided to hold an online survey among participants. They were divided into three groups in terms of the deadline – month, week or their absence. Most of all the share of surveys passed was in the last group. At the same time, if the deadlines period was equal to the month or more, participants often forgot about the task.
The fastest of the whole survey was going on with those people faced with a weekly Dedine or did not put it at all. At the same time, the monthly period of execution, the researchers celebrate, gave people the opportunity to pronounce.
Previously, the American researcher Peter Grant called to procrastinate the property of creative personalities. In his opinion, often procrastination allows you to come to a more efficient solution to any task.
