Thanks to its production potential, China is able to expand its arsenal to one thousand nuclear fuel charges. This was stated by the Pentagon in the annual report on the military power of the PRC for the US Congress, reports TASS.
“The accelerating pace of nuclear expansion of the PRC may lead to the fact that China will have up to 700 nuclear warheads by 2027. The PRC probably intends to acquire at least one thousand warheads by 2030,” the report says. It is noted that the current pace of development of the Chinese nuclear program exceeds the forecasts of the US Department of Defense, made in 2020.
In September, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the military unit was concerned about the “expansion of the Nuclear Arsenal” of China, although he does not consider Beijing as an enemy. In response, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang and called on Brussels not to succumb to “disinformation and lies about China.”
