Inflation in October accelerated to 8.13 percent in annual terms. Such an assessment of consumer price growth gave Rosstat.
Since the beginning of the year, the rise in prices amounted to 6.49 percent. The cost of goods and services taken into account when calculating, increased by 1.11 percent in October compared with September. Food goods have risen the strongest. Their cost increased by 10.89 percent in annual terms. Rising prices for non-food products amounted to 8.17 percent.
In Rosstat, they noted that the prices of fruits and vegetable products continued to grow in October. The cucumbers went up by 48.7 percent, tomatoes – by 43.8 percent, potatoes are 15.5 percent. Previously, the central bank predicted that food inflation will accelerate due to a bad harvest. Adverse weather conditions forced to move the time of sowing and cleaning, which affected the production of products and prices for consumers.
Central Bank predicts inflation at the level of 7.4-7.9 percent at the target rate of four percent. To restrain the rise in prices, the regulator tightened monetary policy and raised the key rate to 7.5 percent.
