In Russia, the citizen of Belarus, Yana Pinchuk, was arrested, which in his homeland is accused of inciting hatred to police officers. This is reported by TASS with reference to the united press service of the courts of St. Petersburg.
Vasileostrovsky District Court sent 24-year-old Pinchuk in the SIZO until December 10. It is accused of committing crimes under the articles “Lying for racial, national, religious or other social hostility or retail” and “the creation of an extremist formation, or participating in it” of the Belarusian Criminal Code.
Protection asked for a softer extension, as there is no request for extradition in the case file.
Yana Pinchuk lives and works in St. Petersburg for four years. According to the Belorussia investigation committee, she was an administrator of the Telegram channel “Vitebsk 97%”, which published communications with a negative assessment of law enforcement officials, as well as “other groups of persons united in other social characteristics.”
In May 2021, Pinchuk was announced wanted, in September they were arrested in absentia, and detained on November 1. At the trial, the girl stated that he did not commit the imputed crimes, and besides, suffering from chronic gastritis, asthma and panic attacks.
