In September, it became known that Gazprom produced 40.8 billion cubic meters of gas, which is 12 percent more than in September 2020. It turned out to be a record indicator over the past 13 years (in 2008, this figure was 42.48 billion cubic meters).
Gas production for nine months of this year soared by 17 percent (up to 378 billion cubic meters). In absolute values, it rose in relation to the level of last year by 55 billion cubic meters. Thus, Gazprom for nine months has provided gas production growth promised for the entire 2021 year.
In the meantime, gas prices in Europe went up again. During the bidding at the London Stock Exchange Ice in the morning on Thursday, October 14, the cost of a thousand cubic meters of natural gas again soared 1.2 thousand dollars. At the maximum, the price reached 1.25 thousand dollars per thousand cubic meters.
