Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MIDEI) Nika Posseku will arrive on a working visit to Moscow in November. Meeting with a colleague announced the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a briefing, the broadcast of which is available on the office page in twitter .
According to him, Russia has long been ready to restore a full dialogue with Moldova in all directions. He said that during the visit, the parties will discuss key issues of bilateral relations. In addition, Lavrov confirmed Russia’s readiness to hold a meeting at the level of state heads.
Diplomat also reminded about the relevant intentions of President Moldavia Maya Sandu. He noted that some Western countries began to sharply criticize the Moldovan leader for the decision to restore relations with Russia, which indicates the subsequent risks of the intervention of the United States and Brussels in the internal affairs of the republic. However, as the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry added, Moscow fully supports the idea of normalizing relations between the two countries.
On August 6, Sandu called on promptly restore relations with Russia. In the same month, Moldova wanted to ask Russia to help her get rid of ammunition from Transnistria. After meeting with the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Dmitry Kozak Sanda stated that Chisinau and Moscow “agreed on the interaction.” At the same time, it is not yet disclosed for the start of mutual assistance.
Earlier, Sanda has already expressed their readiness to normalize relations with Russia. In particular, the President announced its intention to continue negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement and the conclusion of Russian bases from the region. She stressed that the normalization of relations will depend only on the desire of both parties.
