In Voronezh, by the end of 2021, the 47th bombarding aviation regiment on the Su-34 aircraft will be provided, which is currently based in the Bourning of the Voronezh region. About this Minister of Defense of Russia Sergey Shoigu reported during his working trip, reports “Interfax” on Thursday, October 14th.
As noted, the redeployment of bombers will be held from November 15 to December 15.
The head of the Ministry of Defense also reported that in Voronezh the conditions were created for the preparation of specialists in the maintenance and repair of aviation equipment on the basis of the Air Force Academy (VVA) named after Zhukovsky and Gagarin. It is assumed that further specialists will be sent to the troops and will be able to perform up to 70 percent of the volume of repair work.
Earlier, the 47th bombarding aviation regiment was already based in Voronezh, but a few years ago he was transferred to Buturlinovka for the time of reconstruction of the Voronezh Military Airfield Baltimore. Works began in 2013, nine billion rubles were allocated for them. Initially it was assumed that Baltimore will turn into an air base of 200 aircraft – on the airfield it was planned to significantly expand the parking lot for aircraft and build a second runway. However, later from these plans it was decided to refuse that the deadlines for the delivery of the object was delayed.
At the end of August, it was reported that the Su-34 bombers during the teachings of front-line aviation in the Voronezh region sat on the operational airfield, equipped directly on the E-38 Kursk federal highway. Thus, an episode was worked out with overbaping aircraft.
