Shootout in Lebanon returned former premier to Civil War

Former Prime Minister of Lebanon Saad Hariri commented on the shootout in Beirut, which took place earlier on October 14. The politician stated that because of the tragedy, he mentally returned to the civil war. This post is published in its twitter .

“What happened today, scenes of a shootout with projectiles and militants in Beirut reminded me of hated images of the civil war,” wrote a politician. It is likely that he means a civil war of 1975-1990, when armed clashes between Muslim and Christian communities of Lebanon (as well as within the communities themselves) occurred throughout the country).

Ex-Prime Minister also called on Lebanon’s law enforcement agencies to make everything to protect civilians and arrest everyone who arranges shooting or even just walks with weapons.

At least five people died as a result of a shootout between the Shiite groupings “Amal” and “Hezbollah” in Beirut. The collisions began after the supporters of Hezbollah came out with a demonstration and demanded to remove the judge of Tarek Bitar, which is investigating the explosion in the port of Beirut 2020. The criminals attacked the protesters and aimed in the heads of the pistols, say the authorities of Lebanon.

According to other data, the clashes provoked a sniper, which opened fire on protesters and military patrols.
