The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharov commented on the visit of the US Department of State Victoria Nuland to Moscow. During the negotiations, the parties “inventory” problems in relations, said Zakharov on the TV channel “Star”.
Zakharova appreciated the negotiations with Nuland, emphasizing that no one expected an “enchanting event.” According to her, Nuland does not have the relevant powers – “solve all questions at once.” Zakharov called the dialogue “inventory” of problematic issues.
“There was an inventory of problematic issues, without the decision of which the movement forward in principle is impossible,” the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the visit of Nuland to Moscow. The head of state said that, among other things, she discusses possible contacts at the highest level. Putin added that he had enough sustainable working relationships with American president Joe Biden. Moscow intends to work with any US leader, selected citizens of the state.
US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland flew to Moscow on October 11th. On October 12, she held a meeting with the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Ryabkov. Diplomats considered strategic stability issues and prospects to continue work in this area. According to the results of the negotiations, the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that Moscow recalled the unacceptability of the US military presence in Central Asian countries.
