First director of Chernobyl NPP died

The first director of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (NPP) died by Viktor Blyukhanov. This is reported in Facebook -Aktake enterprises.

Blyukhanov was 84 years old. “The team and administration of the enterprise express deep condolences to their relatives and loved ones,” the NPP reports.

Bukukhanov settled at the station in 1970: first headed the construction, and then operation. After the accident in April 1986 he was removed from the manual. In July, the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPSU excluded Brujanov from the party “for large mistakes and disadvantages in the work that led to the accident with severe consequences.” Two years later, in July 1988, the ex-director of NPPs sentenced to ten years imprisonment under the article on violation of safety regulations on explosive industries and enterprises.

Reported in Facebook -group “Chernobyl echoes” in recent years Brukhanov suffered two stroke, which, in combination with radiation disease received after the catastrophe at the station, was strongly reflected on his health.

Accident at the Chernobyl NPP occurred on April 26, 1986. It is considered one of the largest man-made disasters in history. As a result of an explosion in the fourth power unit, a significant amount of radioactive substances was thrown into the environment, almost 8.4 million people were radioactive irradiation.
