A sharp rise in the cost of gas in the world affects the rise in price of fertilizers and the decline in their production, which creates the risks of a new increase in prices for products. The Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak warned this at a meeting of the president with members of the government, RIA Novosti reports.
Especially noticeable trend can be in greenhouse farms, where more energy is spent. In particular, it will be noticeably more difficult to manufacturers of greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers.
At the same time, the official pointed out that he did not see the possibility of a speedy reduction in energy in Europe. Currently, the crisis leads to the closure of metallurgical plants. In China, for the same reason, the textile industry and food production is closed.
According to Novak, other energy carriers are becoming more expensive together with gas. Thus, prices for coal for the year grew 3-4 times, to $ 160-200 per ton. According to the total prices for electricity rose 5-6 times.
