The participants of the “Moscow Format” on the problems of Afghanistan called on the United Nations (UN) to convene the donor commission on socio-economic assistance to the captured “Taliban” movement (prohibited in the Russian Federation) of the Republic. This was stated by the Special Representative of the President of Russia in Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, reports Telegram-channel agency “Sputnik.Afganistan”.
According to Kabulov, the convening of such a commission will help to promote the restoration of Afghanistan. He also noted that in a closed meeting of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, with the Taliban, Radikaly promised to adhere to guarantees, these to the world community after coming to power.
Kabulov also noted that Lavrov clarified in a dialogue with the Taliban that the inclusive government is one of the most important conditions for recognizing the power of radicals – should consist of various Afghan ethnic groups and political groups. Also, the diplomat said that the Russian Foreign Minister discussed with Taliban observance of human rights in Afghanistan.
Lavrov’s meeting with the delegates “Taliban” was held before the meeting of the “Moscow Format” meeting, which takes place on October 20 in the metropolitan “President Hotel”. After the closed negotiations, Lavrov promised that Russia would continue to export students enrolled in Russian universities from Afghanistan. Also, the Minister announced the party of humanitarian assistance, which the Russian Federation will send to the republic in the coming days.
