On the East Space in the Amur Region, the transition of the “Union” starter for a new type of fuel began. Specialists of the Space Center “Eastern” and Research Institute of Starting Complex names named after V.P. Barmines (branches of the operating center of the ground-based space infrastructure, which is part of the state corporation “Roskosmos”) began to translate equipment of refueling systems from kerosene on naphthyl.
Today, Kerosin is already merged from the repository and is preparing for sending to enterprises that deliver it. After all the containers are devastated, the specialists begin to their ventilation and purge nitrogen and air. Upon reaching the optimal ratio of oxygen in the air inside the tanks, their stripping will be carried out.
In December 2020, the installation of the necessary technological equipment was already performed for switching to a new type of fuel. The next step is a connection with the inserting of previously mounted equipment to the filling system. After the end of all necessary operations will be held first autonomous, and subsequently complex tests. By the end of 2021, it is planned to achieve preparedness for complex tests.
naphthyl is an environmentally friendly type of hydrocarbon fuel using polymer additives, it provides increased efficiency, which will ensure the excavation of a greater payload using the Soyuz-2 carrier missile for all types of orbits.
