He intends to “create surprise”. This is what Eric Ciotti says, a member of the Republicans’ Alpes-Maritimes and candidate for the Republicans (LR), about the December 4 congress, which will allow activists to designate the candidate for the party presidential.

In an interview given in Figaro, Thursday, October 21, Mr. Ciotti defends a presidential program supported “on three pillars: authority, freedom and identity”. This involves “a constitutional reform approved by referendum to treat immigration, security and decentralization,” he says. The member LR rolls his program, claimed very rooted on the right, and pleads to “introduce a national and European community priority” on “employment, allowances and housing”.

for allowances packaged to Six years of presence

“This preference already exists for a significant portion of public jobs, but we need to expand it to all public and private jobs, as is the case in Switzerland or Monaco,” says Ciotti. An announcement that echoes the proposal of the national rally candidate (NR), Marine Le Pen, to organize a referendum to include in the Constitution the national preference, if elected in 2022.

On “non-contributive” social allowances (RSA, APL, Family allowances), Mr. Ciotti argues that “no stranger can perceive them before a six-year presence on the national territory”. He adds: “No help, excluding the treatment of vital emergencies, will be granted to a foreigner in an irregular situation.” The member also pleads for a “merger of all social allowances” with cap “two-thirds of the SMIC”.

250 000 Suppressions of public agent posts

defending “a real economic breakdown project” inspired “partly” François Fillon in 2017, Mr. Ciotti preaches “a reduction in public expenditure up to 100 billion euros, thanks to a Reduction of the number of public officials “, estimated at 250,000, against the 200,000 posting of posts in the public service, measured by Valérie Pécresse, also candidate for the investiture on the right.

On the Tax component, Eric Ciotti wishes “the abolition of the death tax, the rights of inheritance and donation, below a heritage of 5 million euros, by promoting the donations between great- Parents and grandchildren, but also the establishment of a single rate of income tax at 15%, applicable to all incomes beyond an SMIC “. Defender of the postponement of the retirement age at age 65, Mr. Ciotti also wants to “return to 39 hours paid 38 hours in the public service and halve tax niches”.

The member finally wants to wear a “decentralization reform based on two territorial levels: about fifty localized provinces around major centers and municipalities, the basic cells of our democracy”.

In case of duel – “highly unlikely”, according to him – between Emmanuel Macron and Eric Zemmour, the candidate for investing LR reaffirms that he will give his vote at the far-right polemist, of which he “shares” the observation “on the French decline”. “On the other hand, I do not see Eric Zemmour’s solutions to deal with this decline,” he says.
