McDonalds equals salary of men and women

McDonalds announced its intention to eliminate the difference in remuneration of men and women in the same positions by 2022. The company decided to additionally invest in equal labor after receipt of information that women around the world earn a little less than men, writes Fox.

In 2021, the analysis of the wage in the network of fast food restaurants showed that women receive 99.85 cents on the dollar of men’s salaries in case of similar work in equal terms. Given that women make up 54 percent of McDonald’s employees around the world, the company is interested in ensuring equal level of employee income.

McDonalds, according to Vice President for Global Business Services Debbie Ballard, included not only the reduction of gender inequality of remuneration, but also the creation of training and development programs for employees, and attracting international specialists.

At the same time, according to the United States Statistics Bureau, on average in America, women make up less than half of corporate employees and earn 82 cents per dollar compared to white men with similar formation. While gap in a salary with dark-skinned and Latin American women significantly larger average.

According to the World Health Organization, the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus pandemic, reflected in women to a greater extent than on men. Women were more likely to reduce or dismissal, many were forced to leave work to sit with children translated on distance learning.
