Poland Prime Minister Mateush Murezetsky called on the European Commission (EC) to organize an investigation against Gazprom. In his opinion, this may be a reaction of the body regarding the energy crisis that unfolded in Europe reports The First News with reference to POLISH Press Agency sources.
Prime Minister said in Brussels on Thursday that Poland wants the European Commission to use all available tools for investigating the activities of the Russian gas giant Gazprom for monopolistic practice.
According to Morrazetsky, the rise in energy prices has been provoked by manipulations by the Russian gas company. Poland also called on the EU member states to have their own gas reserves to resist such manipulations.
Subsequently, the Commission will appreciate how defined trade behavior requires further regulatory actions. The leaders of the European Union called for consolidate efforts and explore the gas and electricity markets.
Earlier, Morrazhetsky accused Gazprom and the Russian authorities in blackmail, because of which allegedly there was an increase in gas prices. He added that the rise in prices can significantly reduce economic growth in Europe, and it is dangerous both for the entire population and for entrepreneurs.
