The leaders of the European Union member countries encouraged to speed up the mutual recognition of COVID certificates with third countries. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to the statement issued following the first day of the summit in Brussels.
From the document it follows that vaccination campaigns in Europe “led to significant progress in the fight against COVID-19”, but in some European countries the situation “remains very serious.” To solve the problem, you need to “intensify efforts to overcome doubts about vaccination, including by combating disinformation, especially in social networks,” considered to be in the EU.
EU also called on the European Commission to speed up the work on mutual recognition of certificates with third countries, the statement says.
