International “Troika” on Sudan called on military to free civil authorities

The international “Troika” on Sudan and the Face of the United States, Great Britain and Norway, called on the military to free the illegally detained representatives of the civil authorities and expressed concern about the situation. The corresponding trilateral application was distributed by the State Department, reports TASS.

“Troika” is deeply concerned about the situation in Sudan and condemns the suspension of the activities of public authority institutions, the announcement of the emergency, as well as the detention of the Military Prime Minister Humduk and other representatives of the civilian leadership, “the document says.

also became known that the UN Security Council meeting will be held on Tuesday at 16:00 (23:00 Moscow time) in a closed format.

On October 25, the military from the Sovereign Council were arrested by Prime Minister Sudan Abdalla Humduka. In addition to him, four ministers were detained – communications, information, finance and industry, as well as the Governor Hartuma Ayman Nimir and the representative of the Sovereign Council Muhammed Al-Fiki.

After the arrest of Civil leaders of Sudan in the capital of the country, the city of Khartum began mass protests against the coup. Tens of thousands of local residents came to the streets. In response to this, the military opened fire on the participants of the demonstration, as a result of which 12 people were injured.

After the state version, a state of emergency was announced throughout the country. The transitional military sovereign council and the Provisional Government of Sudan, who were established after the previous state version and functioned in parallel were also dissolved.
