The US Congress Research Service has suggested that the parliamentarians discuss how to reduce the attractiveness of Russian weapons in the global market. For this policy will be engaged in the development of new “tough measures” in addition to already existing sanctions. With the relevant report, I got acquainted with RT.
The document emphasizes that Russia is the second largest exporter of weapons after the United States. Since 2016, it has about 20 percent of world weapons sales.
The authors of the document note that Moscow uses the sale of weapons to promote its foreign policy interests. Researchers fear that it can “undermine the influence of Washington in the world. As RT writes, Congress members are concerned about the fact that sales of Russian weapons “support the aggressive and malicious activities of Russia, contribute to conflicts, regional instability and compete with US weapons sales.”
