Three Lithuanian citizens who are on Sunday, on October 24, violated the border of Russia in the Curonian bay and were detained, transferred to the Baltic Republic and returned to their homeland. This was reported by the representative of the head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry by press Vitaut Smashevi-Kulechene, reports TASS.
“The detainees of Lithuanian citizens were safely returned to Lithuania,” she said on the ether of the National Radio LRT. Schmeyshi-Kulechez noted that this was contributed to the coordinated actions of the Lithuanian side represented by the authorized government on the border and consular service staff.
At the same time, the representative of the Lithuanian foreign policy department did not refute and did not confirm the media information about the fact that the mayor of the Klaipeda district of Armor Markauskas, which was fond of fishing. According to her, this information is specified.
Earlier on Sunday, the National Radio LRT with reference to the representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuanian Lithuania, Vitaut Schmeyshi-Kulechene, reported that the Russian border guards detained the mayor of the Klaipeda district of Lithuania Armor of Marcauskas and his two friends in the Curonian Gulf and accused of violating the Russian border.
