The final appearance of the presidential elections of Uzbekistan, which were held in the country on October 24, exceeded 80 percent. This was stated by Chairman of the CEC Uzbekistan Cheaniddine Nizamhodzhaev, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the Commission, 16,036,914 voters came to the polling stations, which amounted to 80.8 percent of the overall list. It is noted that the necessary threshold of 33 percent turnouts was overcome already at 11:00 local time (09:00 Moscow time).
Previously, the State Duma deputy Yaroslav Nilov, which is part of the delegation of the CIS observers in the presidential elections in Uzbekistan, declared the possibility to take into account the experience of the republic in the following elections in Russia. As an example, he called the publication of the full lists of voters in the voting sites in general access.
Presidential elections in Uzbekistan are held every five years. The favorite of the current voting is the current head of the state of Shavkat Mirzieev.
