Gazprom threatened Moldova to cease gas supplies

Gazprom can stop gas supplies to Moldova, if the country does not fully pay the debt and does not sign a new contract from December 1. This was announced by the official representative of the company Sergey Kupriyanov, reports TASS.

According to him, the Moldavian side asks to extend the contract for the supply of gas to October and November of the current year. At the same time, Gazprom is ready to meet, but after full payment for September and October.

Kupriyanov clarified that the complex situation with gas supplies was due to the fault of the Moldova authorities, which were 433 million dollars owed. “Given the delay in payments, the total debt amount is 709 million,” says the representative of Gazprom RIA Novosti. He stated that the country did not want to recognize the accumulated amount of debt. “Representatives of Moldova also do not like the price of gas, although the pricing here is clear and transparent here,” Craerov concluded.
