Polish portable anti-aircraft missile complex (CRKK) Piorun exceeds the Russian “Verqu”, declares Defence24.pl.
In the publication, with reference to RIA Novosti, it is noted that the maximum range of “Verba” is five kilometers, and the maximum flight height is three and a half kilometers. “If this is true, the Polish PZRK Piorun is better than its Russian analogues. And not only Russian,” the Polish edition writes.
Defence24.pl Notes that “the maximum range of Piorun is not disclosed, but it is known that it exceeds 6.4 kilometers,” and the maximum flight height is four kilometers.
“No one hides in Poland that Polish CRKKs were created on the basis of knowledge obtained by Polish designers and engineers when using Russian portable anti-aircraft complexes. However, it is now clear that the student has surpassed his teacher, and the Russians must have noticed this” , – Publications say.
The publication assures that the situation with Russian CRCC complicates the sanctions imposed by Western countries in relation to Russia, because of which the latter has lost access to modern components for military equipment. Nevertheless, it is noted, in particular, that Piorun is used by the still two-way infrared head of the homing head, while the “Verba” is three-band.
In October, the Commander-in-Chief of Russian Ground Forces, General of the Army, Oleg Salyukov, said that the PZRK “Tag”, equipped with a sustainable optical interference head of the homing head, will soon go into service.
