Reverse supplies to Poland from Germany on the Yamal-Europe pipeline increased in the morning on Monday – from 150 thousand cubic meters per hour on Saturday and Sunday to 524 thousand. This is what the data of the European Gas Transport Operator GASCADE is told, TASS reports.
Pumping in this direction began after gas supplies to Germany from Russia completely stopped on Saturday. The data of the operator of the Polish network of Gaz-System gas pipelines indicate that from the east direction, a number of gas goes, but remains in the country.
in Gazprom on the replacement of supplies from Russia pumping from Germany reacted restrained. The representative of the company explained that the applications of European consumers are satisfied in full, and the fluctuations in demand for Russian gas depends on the actual needs of customers.
Poland, as follows from the contract, has the right to reverse gas pipelines, but previously actually it was about the so-called virtual reverse, that is, gas selection from the transit flow. The route can go to the real reverse if the reverse application is greater than the physical volume of supplies.
Against this background, the spot prices for gas in Europe have grown more than ten percent from the beginning of trading on Monday, exceeding $ 860 per thousand cubic meters.
Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin called on Gazprom to increase gas volumes in European storage facilities to help Europe in the fight against the energy crisis. At the same time, it became known that German Chancellor Angela Merkel told the European leaders about Putin’s promise to increase the volume of gas in German storage facilities “Gazprom”.
