Apache Software Foundation organization introduced Web conference server release Apache OpenMeetings 6.2 , which allows you to organize audio and video conferencing via Web, as well as collaboration and messaging between participants. Supported both carrying out webinars with one protruding Rapporteur and conferences with an arbitrary number of participants simultaneously interacting with each other. The project code is written in Java and spreads under the APACHE 2.0 license.
among additional features: tools for integration with a calendar schedule, sending individual or broadcast notifications and invitations, sharing files and documents, maintaining the address book of participants, conducting the protocol of the event, joint planning tasks, broadcast the output of running applications (demonstration screenshots), voting and polls.
One server can serve an arbitrary number of conferences conducted in separate virtual conference rooms and include their recruitment. In the new release:
- Improved interface for mobile devices. Added the ability to place OpenMeetings on the home screen to start a web interface by analogy with conventional mobile applications.
Improved support for IOS and Android platforms. HTML5 / WEBRTC application with camera and microphone in iOS requires at a minimum version of Safari 15.x, and in Android – Chrome 81.
- Support for OpenAPI 3 – REST API to integrate on conference sites for conferences. Modules for using this API are offered for PHP and Node.js, and ready-made plugins are available for Moodle, SugarCRM, Drupal and Joomla.
