The United States leads negotiations with the main world consumers of energy resources to jointly achieve expansion of oil supplies from the organization of countries – oil exporters (OPEC +) and together to respond in case of refusal. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a high-ranking representative of the American administration.
As the official said, the theme of the fuel deficit and record-increased prices was discussed at the G20 summit in Rome with the participation of US President Joe Bayden.
“We use this opportunity for some intensive consultations with all the key consumers of energy resources in the world about how we see the current picture … How to effectively convince OPEC + to do what should with delivery,” he explained .
In the event that oil refining countries do not hear calls from energy consumers, according to an American official, countries will begin discussion and elaboration of response.
Previously, Biden stated to colleagues from the G20 countries about the need to have a “adequate” fuel supply on the world market in the context of the global transition to environmentally friendly energy sources.
In mid-October, the spokesman for the White House, Jen Psaki, said that the US administration had an impact on the participating countries in the organization of oil exporters (OPEC) in order to reduce fuel prices in the energy markets. She explained that this is one of the measures that the US administration takes to reduce high fuel prices in the country.
