Admiral US Navy Resignation and the former Supreme Commander of NATO in Europe James Stavridis called President Vladimir Putin’s president by a smart tactic. He wrote about it in his article for Bloomberg.
Stavridis noted that Moscow and Beijing are increasing cooperation, including joint Navy exercises in the northern part of the Pacific, as well as in the Atlantic Ocean and the Baltic Sea.
“Despite the reduction in population and a non-consistent economy, Russia still has a nuclear arsenal, which is enough to destroy the entire world, and Putin is a smart tactic with a big appetite for risk,” Ex-Glerk expressed.
In the same material, Stavridis urged the strategy to “beware of the bear” because of the words of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov that Russia will suspend the work of his representative office with NATO from November 1. He also commented on the Lavrov Council to contact the Alliance Allies to the Russian Ambassador in Belgium, if those “will arise any emergency”, calling the expression of the Minister “Enemy”.
On October 18, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced the suspension from the beginning of November, the work of post prunes under NATO. On the same time, the activities of the Military Communications Mission and the NATO Information Bureau in Moscow will suspend. Such a decision was made in response to the actions of the North Atlantic Alliance, which was deprived of accreditation of eight employees of Russian post procurement at the block.
