Chinese deck plane of fifth generation made first flight

On Friday, October 29, the first flight made Chinese deck plane of the fifth generation. The promising model was developed based on an experimental FC-31 fighter. This is reported by BMPD blog, referring to Chinese sources.

The new combat aircraft can get the designation J-35. The deck fighter is based on the design of the experimental FC-31. The plane was developed as an alternative to the serial fighter of the fifth generation J-20. The new aircraft is smaller and easier than J-20.

The BMPD blog authors suggested that the aircraft is designed for a catapult start from the promising aircraft carriers of China. Thus, the deck fighter received a wing folding mechanism and an aircraft carrier catapult shuttle. Also, the sample on the tests was equipped with an electron-optical station.

Previously, Military Watch magazine reported on the tests of the double version of the Chinese J-20 fighter. The new fifth generation aircraft can be the basis for creating training and shock modifications J-20.

In August, the Breaking Defense edition wrote that China’s new deck aircraft will deprive the US naval forces of the latest advantages. The publication emphasizes that the Early versions of the J-35 received engines of the RD-93 of Russian production.
