Empty folders found in the system section of the operating system. According to experts, they appear in the Local subsection of the AppData section – the data used by the applications are usually stored here. As the authors noticed, as a rule, the system creates dozens or hundreds of empty directories, whose name ends on the word .tmp. And by reports of some users, sometimes their number is calculated by thousands of pieces.
Some folders can be hidden: To search them, you may need to turn on the display of hidden operating system files. As specialists noticed, they cannot explain the appearance of empty directories in the Windows system section. Apparently, thousands of folders do not affect the performance of the OS.
Later, the authors noticed that such a mistake exists at least since 2019. Some users of Windows 10 also appear empty catalogs.
Previously, users noticed that after the next update of Windows 11, the remote print function broke into the system. Microsoft representatives promised to correct the errors in the future.
