For Russia, it is important to recognize the role of forest projects and atomic energy as real tools to combat climate change. This was stated by the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin, RIA Novosti reports.
Diplomat called the recognition of the specified tools of the main task of Moscow on the climatic summit, which takes place in Glasgow. According to him, the Russian side calls on the world community to consistent actions to solve climate problems.
Vershinin noted that, taking into account the size of the territories of Russia, climate change is a serious challenge for the country. “Our” green “agenda covers the entire spectrum of environmental directions: from providing environmental safety in the Arctic to the fight against desertification in the south of the country,” he revealed. The deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that Moscow has already achieved a decrease in emissions into the atmosphere, but much remains to be done.
