China and India can receive the Russian latest anti-aircraft missile systems C-500 after these systems are delivered to the Armed Forces of Russia. This was stated by Director of the Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation (FSVTs) of Russia Dmitry Shuguev in an interview with RBC.
He clarified that the first C-500 serial sample is planned to put in the army soon. In addition to India and China, the countries with which there are “long-standing, affiliate and predicted relationships” will be able to expect the supply of S-500 system. Potential applications will be considered individually in each specific case, he noted.
Shugaev also recalled that India is a long-standing strategic partner, with which a contract for C-400 has already been concluded. According to him, the country will receive the first division of this system until the end of 2021.
In July 2019, it became known that India concluded a contract with Russia for the supply of approximately one thousand aviation missiles. India’s supplies of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems C-400 will be completed by April 2023.
