The five largest foreign buyers of the Russian military equipment include China, India, the Middle East and North Africa region, as well as Latin America. About this in an interview with RBC, director of the Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) of Russia Dmitry Shuguev.
He noted that each region has its own specificity. So, the countries of Africa south of the Sahara prefer procurement of the helicopters of the MI family, the “dry” and “MiG” aircraft, air defense systems “Pole-C1” and “Tor-M2E”, “Beech”, as well as Kalashnikov’s small arms. At the same time, in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, aviation equipment and aviation engines to them are in demand, air defense armament, stressed the head of FSVTs.
Shugaev also added that a total of a portfolio of export orders for Russian weapons exceeded 52 billion dollars. At the same time, 50 percent of sales accounted for combat aviation.
