Former president of Moldova, the leader of the Socialist Party Igor Dodon said that the tariff for gas for ordinary consumers in the country could grow at least twice. He spoke about this on the air of the local PRIME TV channel, reports RIA Novosti.
According to him, the increase in energy tariffs will automatically cause prices for all other goods and services. Dodon told that, according to experts, the price of gas can grow from 4.3 lei (25 cents) to 8-14 lei (45-80 cents). At the same time, the ex-head state stressed that such a price would be difficult to pay consumers, and it will also create problems for manufacturers.
At the same time, Dodon noted that the Moldova’s authorities received a good contract under existing conditions. According to him, Russia showed an understanding in negotiations with Chisinau and proved that he is a good friend of the country, extending the gas supply agreement. “I believe that Russia and Moldova found a compromise and went to mutual concessions, extinguishing the contract for gas supply,” the former president was summarized.
Gazprom gas supplies contract and the Moldavian side extended on October 29 for a period of five years. In Gazprom, the conditions called mutually beneficial. An agreement was given to the contract secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov and the contractual assessment. According to him, there can be no other result of commercial agreements, but the negotiations of the parties went into this vein.
