In the Central African Republic (CAR), representatives of local powerful departments dressed in T-shirts with the inscription “I Wagner” (Je Suis Wagner). This is reported by the CorbeaNews-CentraftRique edition.
Locals in T-shirts of different colors with a similar print were noticed in the capital of the Tsar – the city of Bangui. According to the publication, they are actively distributed among the employees of gendarmerie, cadets of the National Police Academy, as well as employees of the main energy communal communal company of the country Énerca. In addition, in similar T-shirts were captured by soldiers of the National Army of the CAR FACA and local residents on the streets of Bangui.
According to CorbeaNews-CentraftRique, the distribution of clothing with similar slogans is the Russian private military company (CHVC) Wagner, whose mercenaries work in the CAR. At the same time, the authorities of the country have repeatedly denied the fact of the presence of fighters of this PCC in the region, writes the publication.
In December 2020, against the background of heavy battles between government forces and rebels in the Central African Republic, Russia at the request of the authorities of the CAR sent 300 military instructors to the country. It was specified that on the spot they were engaged in the training of military personnel of the National Army of the Republic. At the same time, information appeared that Russian mercenaries began to help the CAR army – they were noticed 130 kilometers to the north-west of the capital of the Republic of Bangui together with mercenaries from Rwanda and representatives of the Armed Forces of the CAR.
